Gabby Petito, 22, Confirmed Dead

Human remains found in a forest have been identified as “van life” vlogger, Gabby Petito.

After an autopsy was conducted on Tuesday, 21 September, Teton County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the remains were that of 22-year-old Petito, who was found at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming two days prior.

In a press release, the FBI wrote: “Coroner [Dr Brent] Blue’s initial determination for the manner of death is homicide. The cause of death remains pending final autopsy results.”

Back in June, Petito and her fiance, Brian Laundrie, embarked on a cross-country road trip that was well-documented on social media. On 1 September, however, Laundrie returned home to North Port, Florida without her; the Petito family filed a missing persons report ten days later.

According to Laundrie’s parents, they haven’t seen their 23-year-old son since 14 September. Given that he has become “a person of interest” in the case, North Port authorities and the FBI have intensified their efforts to locate his whereabouts.
